eUSAconnect Writers' Guild Application

Join the Writers’ Guild

As a writer, you see your community from a unique point of view. You have a more creative perspective on events taking place around you, and you have a passion for sharing your stories, your experiences, your outlook. Everyone has a story to tell, and we’re inviting you to join the conversation.

The Writers’ Guild is an association of writers who contribute to our site and who are available to write articles on commission for our clients. Anyone who has had his/her work published on a local community or county site is eligible to apply for membership in the Writers’ Guild.

Here’s How It Works

In order to be considered for membership in the Writers’ Guild, you must submit a minimum of two articles for publication on your local community’s site.  These articles will serve as your “portfolio,” which will be evaluated by our panel of experts. There are no dues and membership is permanent.  You will get your own landing page, which will give visitors access not only to the work you do as a Guild member, but any other work you wish to showcase.  Membership is region-specific, so any assignments you are offered will come from the region of the state in which your “portfolio” articles were published. If you wish to be considered for assignments outside your region, you must first have at least one article published on a community or county site in the additional region(s) that interests you.

Just To Be Clear…

Membership in the Guild does not mean that you will be paid for everything you submit. You will be paid only for those articles that are commissioned. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that you will get any paid gigs; though, over time, it’s likely that you’ll get more jobs than you can handle. Every article commissioned through the Writers’ Guild will be assessed by our panel of experts before it’s cleared for publication and before payment is made.  If you are commissioned to write an article, you will be paid a reasonable fee. However, don’t view this as your retirement plan, and definitely don’t quit your day job. This should be viewed as an interesting sideline, not a job.

After filling out this application you will receive the instruction to submit your Articles for review, details on the program, and the compensation information.
